How Does Chiropractic Care Help?

Chiropractic care does not heal you, You heal you. All we do as chiropractors is assist in your healing. Think of an open clothes pin. It has a sharp end sticking out and that sharp end can cause multiple problems. However, if the clothes pin is shut, it can be moved, used, and handled without injury. As a chiropractor I shut the clothes pins in your spine, allowing your body to heal by using your nerves, spine, and muscles properly.

I Didn't Hear A Sound. Does That Mean The Adjustment Didn't Work?

A sound is not always heard during an adjustment. That does not mean the adjustment did not work. Sometimes there is too much inflammation in a joint to hear a sound. The most important thing is the bone moving into the correct position. If that happened, then the sound doesn’t matter.

Does Insurance Cover Chiropractic Visits?

Some insurances cover chiropractic visits, but I do not accept insurance at my office. I am a cash-based practice because I do not like insurance dictating what I do with my patients.

How Safe Is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic care is one of the safest treatment options when it comes to musculoskeletal disorders. There are some studies that talk about patients having strokes after chiropractic adjustments, however they are extremely rare. As a matter of fact, the odds of you getting a stroke after a chiropractic adjustment are the same as you getting a stroke while walking down the street. According to John Hopkins, the amount of people that die from medical accidents per year is 250,000 people. NSAIDs, like Advil, cause about 3,200 deaths per year. Chiropractic, according to insurance companies, is by far one of the safest, if not the safest form of healthcare. Strokes are the only reason for death by chiropractic and there is a lot of controversy as to whether a chiropractic adjustment is the cause of it.

Is Chiropractic Care Safe While I'm Pregnant?

It is perfectly safe, if you are seeing a chiropractor who knows what they are doing. We see pregnant patients all the time in our office without any complications or problems.

Can I Become Addicted To Chiropractic Adjustments?

Technically, you can become addicted to anything. That being said, there are people out there who feel that they need chiropractic care much more than necessary. Most people are not like this though.

Is Chiropractic Safe For Children?

Chiropractic care is very safe for children. Because children are so resilient, they can injure themselves and not really know it. It is always a good idea to have your children’s spines checked.

How Much Schooling Does A Chiropractor Have?

Chiropractors have more class hours than medical doctors. We go to school for about 4 years and do many of the same things medical doctors have to do in school. On top of that we also have to learn about chiropractic.

Can I See A Chiropractor If I've Had Back Surgery?

Yes. Chiropractic care can work wonders for people who have had back surgeries. The type of treatment differs based on the surgery.

How Long Will It Take To Work?

This is a tough question to answer. It will take as long as needed to get you back to optimum health. Sometimes that only takes a couple visits and sometimes it takes several months. It depends on the severity of your problem and how much effort you are willing to put into your health and well-being.
